This is another small tribute to Lindsey Vonn who is a member of the US Ski Team and a World Cup Alpine Ski Racer. Lindsey is a Four-time Overall World Cup Champion, an Olympic Gold and Bronze Medalist and a World Champion Gold and Silver Medalist for starters. As of this writing, she has 53 total World Cup wins.

I hear she came from the Midwest

And arrived in Vail as a teen

Soon started shredding FIS

And then earned a spot on “The Team”

Her world debut was in Park City

First podium was in Cortina’s Dolomites

Won her first downhill in the Canadian Rockies

Flying down Gun Barrel near Lake Louise’s royal site

She’s a downhill racer

With winning on her mind

She’s the Alpine Dominator

She’s gonna beat you to the finish line

She’s not afraid of crashing

Throwing down a run that can’t be matched

She’ll even shake off a yard-sale

And then get right back in the start

Cause her heart is in the action

And it’s the crazy speed she loves

Just keep that adrenaline pumping

She’s one competitive racer

Who will fight to the thrilling end

She’s a downhill racer

With winning on her mind

She’s the Alpine Dominator

The Downhill Queen just won again

At 23 she won her first Overall Title

And quickly soared to rock star fame

Now she has four big crystal globes

And everyone knows her name

The last Olympics she skied to Gold

After applying curd cheese to her shin

And flew down a speedy course

Finishing that icy Whistler downhill

With an All-American winning grin

Not long ago she had a giant Sölden win

On the season’s opening day

And celebrated that amazing GS race

By joining four awesome ladies

In the “all event winner’s club”

She’s a downhill racer

With winning on her mind

She’s even better than the Terminator

She’ll be back… to crush your time

She now has 16 crystal globes

And 12 are discipline titles

She’s won 53 world cup races

And each one brings another smile

So just stay tuned and read the news

Cause more will come with time

I know Picabo must be proud of you

As I hear on most every street corner

She was your childhood idol

Who must have inspired an amazing dream

When you had the chance to meet her

Lindsey has Five World Championship medals

Gold and Silver don’t you know

She even won a little cow in France’s Val D’Isere

I think her “got milk” mooing friend

Lives up in the Austrian Alps

She visits “Olympe” whenever she is there 

She’s a downhill racer

With winning on her mind

She’s the Alpine Dominator

She’s gonna beat you to the finish line 

But, there’s just no way to tame her

Her wild spirit can’t be beat
I know Adele can set fire to the rain

But Lindsey can speed past that

And set fire to the ice

So, let’s get ready for a great year

I hear it’s almost “Go Time”

And Lindsey Vonn will wow us

As she dominates the world again

Now setting records is important

As they can stand the test of time

You all know the question that is going round inside

Is this the year for 63 total world cup wins

I think it is the perfect time

And I wonder what legendary Annemarie would say

If I could somehow read her mind

Her World Cup season is on full go

The champion skier flys from snow to snow

Winning many, losing some

Training daily, faraway places

But back home you’ll always have

Fun times with friends

Red and blue gates, they sometimes look the same

Some people seem to forget her other life

No one sees the hours in the gym

There are no short cuts to her wins

But back home you’ll always have

Good times with friends

When the very early morning comes

She’s out the door and always on the run

First the work-out and then the rest

It probably seems like it never really ends

Grab your gear girl, cause now it’s off to race again

World Cup she's not through with you yet

Maybe at 63 wins, she might just be content

She still has one or two more Olympics in her mind

And more World Championships will come with time

But back home you’ll always have
